Hardware configuration
Whereas Macintosh OSX based computer systems offer relatively few configurations for any given Hauptwerk setup, the PC world offers a wide array of choices. Choice is a good thing, but the sheer combination of available choices can sometimes overwhelm those with less technical knowledge, and confuse you when you want to assemble a good PC-based system to use with Hauptwerk.
This page will provide future Hauptwerk owners, and those that wish to upgrade their system, configurations already used and tested by existing owners. By choosing one of these configurations, you may be confident that you will have a well-adapted Hauptwerk computer system.
I invite everyone who owns a recently Hauptwerk configured PC to share their configuration, so that others can build/buy similar one.

Very robust system; can be up for weeks without reboot; 3 pci slots are ideal for the PCI audio cards. Not too expensive. Highly recommended. Will handle almost any sample set (PAB (92 ranks) or Caen Surround (2x55 ranks) Tuttis can create some cracking but this is with almost all the stops/couplers on) | micdev |
